Plastering and Skimming
From a small hole in the wall which needs filling to new builds. We quote for every job regardless of size. All plaster work is 2 coats guaranteed. Plastering a room can transform the appearance if done to a high standard which we thrive to do. All work areas are sheeted up to keep the mess to a minimum. Insurance specialists, water or fire damaged properties. Float and set, re-skims, patching chases, all work considered.
Working with any background regardless of condition we can get it back to its best ready for decoration. If its back to brick then it will either need a backing plaster or plaster board dabbed on to the brick. The first method is the oldest and most expensive and can also take a while to dry, a backing coat can be applied up to 50mm and is then skimmed once ruled flat. if not ruled correctly or not at all your walls will not be straight. the alternative and most widely used is the plaster board. Dabbed onto the brick or screwed onto a wood or metal frame, this is then skimmed and will dry in 2-3 days ready for paint/wallpaper. We will advise the best method depending on time and costs. New ceilings boarded and skimmed, we specialize in fire and water damaged properties and can deal direct with insurance companies ( paying the customers excess) All areas of work are sheeted to keep the dust/mess to a minimum. Plastering is a wet trade so therefore can be dirty/dusty at times that is why BASE sheet all floors, cover all items left in the rooms on domestic re-skims. Depending on the site, if floors are not allowed to be covered ( H & S) we will leave the site clean and tidy.
